Annual Cleanup on October 13th as part of NC Big Sweep Week

The next Clean Jordan Lake event will be held on Oct. 13, 2012 from 9am to 1pm.  A lunch will be included.  All above the age of 10 are welcome to participate as part of the annual NC Big Sweep week. The meeting place for all volunteers will be at the New Hope Overlook Boat Ramp at the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area.  Park Rangers as well as staff from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be assisting us.  We need walkers to fan out along the shoreline and boaters to ferry others to another nearby site on the main channel leading to the dam.   To register, go to our Meetup.com site. If unable to participate on Oct. 13, Jordan Lake Environment Education is sponsoring a cleanup along shoreline accessed from Farrington Road on Sat., Oct. 6 from 1:30-3:30. This is  suitable for young children to participate.
