Jordan Lake State Recreation Area continues to be the most-visited site within the N.C. State Parks system. Plus many other anglers, boaters, bathers, kayakers, hunters, hikers and birders who access the lake and surrounding 28,000 acres of public land outside the park boundaries.
Over 600,000 of us depend on the Jordan Lake Watershed for clean, safe drinking water. It is a massive regional resource that supports 10 surrounding counties and 27 municipalities.

Clean Jordan Lake was co-founded in July 2009 by Dr. Thomas Colson (now employed by the National Park Service) and Dr. Francis DiGiano, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill. We are a recognized nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal tax code.
We Help enable Local Community Members and businesses to remove trash from the shoreline and to promote public awareness of the problem.
