2024 Public Annual Fall Cleanup

  • Jordan Lake Dam Visitors Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We had a great fall cleanup on Saturday!

63 volunteers turned out on a gorgeous day and picked up 89 bags of trash, 6 tires, a plastic jersey barrier, 2 big plastic barrels, a City of Burlington trash can lid, and 2 giant corrugated culvert pipes! So much trash washed into the lake from Debby and Helene that we'll have to go back and finish it.

Thanks to all who helped!

Adopt-A-Shoreline - Capital Group Sierra Club

Section off Rt. 751 on southeast shoreline of Northeast Creek. 1 volunteer, 1 bag. Learn more about our Adopt-A-Shoreline program, click here.

Nice day for the first clean up of the year.

Very little under the bridge, very little on the rocks of the causeway, very little on both sides of the road, and very little along the shoreline or deeper in the woods where visibility is excellent this time of year.  Winter clean-ups are always lighter, but this is the first time I've only filled 1 bag since I started with Capital Group Sierra Club volunteers in April of 2016.  Granted it was just as full as any other bag, but no more.

No items of interest.

Beverage of the Month: Jugo de Coco seen for the first time at two locations on both sides of the causeway.
