We depend on donations to cover our annual operating expenses the largest of which are the rental of a storage unit for our supplies and liability insurance. Any amount will help.
The lake's shoreline is far cleaner than when we started in 2009 thanks to your volunteerism and donated services.
The grand totals in 10 years of volunteerism are: 478 cleanup events, 7,575 volunteers, 16,638 bags (about 166 tons) and 4717 tires! We did this with no paid staff.
Our work must continue. 80% of the trash originates in the 1,700 square miles of the Jordan Lake watershed and is flushed off the land with every rainfall. Careless recreational use of the shoreline accounts for the rest.
We also ask you to consider several ways to volunteer in 2020:
participate in our semi-annual cleanups
join our Adopt-A-Shoreline Program (5+ people, 3 times/yr., designated section)
join our Adopt-A-Feeder Stream Program (5+ people, 3 times/yr., designated stream)
join our board and organizing committees
Clean Jordan Lake's long term goal is trash prevention in the watershed and at the shoreline. We are excited about 2020!
