Hurricanes Florence and Michael raised havoc. These were followed in November by yet another tropical storm. And yet more big rains came in Spring. The lake level rose more than 14 feet above normal (216 feet above sea level) five times since September as the graph below shows. Each of these events brought more trash to the shoreline.
Our Annual Spring cleanup in 2019 resulted in 400 bags of trash and 60 tires being removed in a 1 mile stretch. Many more of stretches remain filled with trash. The area selected for the Fall cleanup is shown on the map.

What to Wear
All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and put on work gloves (we provide these or bring your own favorites). We strongly recommend to wear long pants, long-sleeve shirt and hat.
